Gary is 35 years old and is still single.
This is much to the consternation of his mother who continually questions him about his girlfriends and when he’s going to settle down.
One day he’s discussing it with a friend who asks,
“OK – But why aren’t you married?”
“You have a great job and you’re not that ugly LOL”
“It’s not as if you can’t get a girl – I’ve seen you dating some great girls”
“Can’t you find a woman you want to settle down with?”
Gary replied,
“Well actually, I’ve found many women I would have been happy to marry.”
“Problem is that whenever I bring them home to meet my parents, my mother doesn’t like them”
His friend thinks for a moment and says,
“I’ve got an idea you could try”
“I was reading a magazine article the other day in one of my wife’s magazines”
“It was all about compatible personalities”
“From what it said I think that you should try to find a girl who’s just like your mother”
A few months later they meet again and his friend says,
“Did you try what I said?”
“Did you find the perfect girl?”
“Did your mother like her?”
With a frown on his face, Gary answers,
“Yes, I found the perfect girl”
“She was just like my mother”
“You were right, my mother liked her very much indeed”
The friend said,
“Then what’s the problem?”
Gary replied,
“My father can’t stand her….”
